Spreads I Use To Manage Growth and Implement My Vision
I’ve been using a dotted Leuchtturn1917 notebook (affiliate link) for a few years and LOVE them. A LOT. They are my favorite notebook out there for a planner. They have two ribbons and I keep one in in the month calendar page and the other on the week calendar page – a tiny detail but it is super efficient and I love it.

Vision For the Year. I do the figuring out in a different place and write my final vision in the very front, as well as my word of the year.
Goal Tracking. I do simple check boxes to keep track of my goals but there are plenty of options out there.
Longterm Project/Lists. I leave some blank pages so I can add to them all year. Some examples: my husbands/family goals, blogging ideas, places we want to go, gifts for birthday/christmas, etc.
Quarter Planning. I plan the year out, brainstorm style, to plug in things that we would like to do that year. It is a good place to rough out goals (eg if I want to send Christmas Cards in December I’ll write take pictures in October, collect addresses in November, buy stamps and envelopes and send in December) as well as things you want to do (writing visit a museum in quarter 1, a sporting event in quarter 2, national part in quarter 3, a symphony in quarter 4).
Calendar Pages. I like to have a paper calendar instead of digital. It is easy for me to pull out and reference and I don’t have to wait for loading times.
Monthly Spreads. These are powerful for tracking growth. I include sections for my focus for the month, things I’ve discovered, accomplished, went, family (things we are teaching or focusing on as a family), books read/listened to. I find these metrics important for me to feel like I’m growing – choose what is relevant to you. I also include a space for writing out 3-5 projects for the month (a loose term that applies to anything with more than 1 or 2 steps) and space for any other monthly brainstorms or lists.
Weekly Spreads. Here there is a column for scheduled events and another for day specific tasks (the big 3). I also have a space for meal planning context based to-do lists which includes Home, Computer, Phone, Discuss, Errands. There is flex space for my other needs for the week (such as blog posts, daily tracking, packing lists, etc.)
Think and Process Pages. There is a blank spread after every weekly spread so that I have plenty of space for note-taking. I write all sorts of stuff here, for example: phone numbers, project plans, self reflection, gratitude lists, webinar notes, shopping lists, mind-maps, ideas to do with the kids, longer to-do brain dumps, notes for an appointment, etc.
Quarterly Reviews. A place to evaluate how the previous 90 days went and determine your top priorities for the next 90 days. This is also the time to look at your vision for the year and adjust your ideas and goals to your current life situation.
End of the Year Review/Vision Brainstorm for Upcoming Year. I always use the last few pages of my planner to work through the vision planning that I discussed in the previous episode.
