In this week’s podcast episode, I take you behind the scenes of the Soaring Mothers Summit and share some of the miracles and the lessons I learned. This project was an opportunity to strengthen my faith and trust in God in very real ways.
Early one morning, as I was mildly panicking about all that was going on – multiple doctor appointments each week, homeschooling, meals, helping friends, violin lessons, and keeping the household running – God reminded me of the story of Peter walking on water.
Peter asked to join Jesus on the water and he was able to walk until he started looking around at the waves and storm. I was like Peter, focusing on the waves in my own life. God reminded me that I only had to do two things: keep Jesus at the center of my life and take the next right step forward.
God would perform the miracles. And he did, in big and small ways.
Another lesson I learned was that if you want to find out what works, speed and mistakes are essential.
It can be so easy to get stuck in perfectionism – wanting things to be just right before we set up the new family system or post an Instagram reel. But the reality is that the only way to know what will work is by trying and seeing what follows.
In business, you need to follow the data. At home, you get better at parenting, cooking, teaching, disciplining, forgiving, organizing, or decluttering by DOING.
In both, you will make mistakes, but that is great because you now have information you didn’t have before. And you get to try again, but this time just a bit better than last time.
