There is a lot of focus on time management and being productive. However, as a mom, I find that managing time can be inconsistent, which, for me, can be incredibly de-motivating.

The great news is that there are other things we can focus on to accomplish what matters to us!

For me, that is homeschooling my kids, working on projects together around our home, having time each day to study the scriptures, journal, and pray, adventuring as a family, and running Thriving in Motherhood.

I’ve been able to make loads of progress in seasons where it seemed like it would be impossible. For example, I’ve consistently released weekly podcast episodes through physically debilitating pregnancies and post-surgery.

How? It wasn’t with babysitters or waiting for my kids to be in school. It comes down to having clarity about what matters to me and why and knowing what my next baby step is. When an opportunity arises for me to make a little progress or there, I can jump in immediately.

That incremental progress builds momentum, energy, and a whole lot of learning, ultimately getting me where I want to go.

Using the Thriving in Motherhood Planner (get yours here!) gives me both the clarity about what I want to do and helps me identify the next baby step I can take to keep moving forward toward my goals.

In addition to knowing my next steps, working with my natural energy during the day allows me to accomplish a lot.

I bounce out of bed in the morning but can’t think effectively between 12-2 pm. So what do I do about that? I do my thinking and exercising in the morning, and I take a power nap and make dinner between 12-2.

Instead of fighting my body’s rhythms, I work with them and align what I want to do with when it’s easiest to do those things for me.
