Summer is here or just around the corner and it’s time to think about ways to cultivate family relationships.
This year we are having a family summer camp that puts what the kids already love, their family responsibilities, their goals, learning options, and family adventures into a little structure.
When we pick a theme around what our kids love, we get a chance to come into the magic of their world.
Give yourself the gift of finding joy, wonder, and delight with your kids – no strings attached.
Go on adventures this summer, eat food you enjoy, and work on things that are interesting to them. Use it all to build relationships.
Here is the process we used to create our family summer camp you can use as an inspiration point for your own:
5 Steps to Create a Family Summer Camp Everyone Loves
- Pick a theme that aligns with your family’s current interest
- Reveal the idea in a fun way
- Include family responsibilities and learning activities and goals – things you want to give attention to this summer
- Add in weekly adventures that line up with the theme
- Include the kids in the planning for maximum joy: anticipation, the actual event, and remembering
For more details about what each of these steps look like and we are doing, check out this week’s episode.

Thriving in Motherhood Podcast Community on Patreon
Patreon is the place where we can come together as mothers and intentionally cultivate growth together. Each month you can gain access to printable worksheets that go along with topics in the podcast to help us slow down and make lasting change – not just be inspired for a few days and then move on. These worksheets are what I’m personally working on and talking about with my closest friends – and I want YOU to join us!
Cultivate your growth intentionally with us through two worksheets a month, a online community, and a monthly group video call to share our “big wins” and things we are still working on.
